2025 Kia ForteAccording to rumors, the Kia Forte will be redesigned in 2024, but its two gas-only engines will remain the only powertrain options. The Forte Hybrid is manufactured in China, but it appears unlikely that Kia will introduce the hybrid subcompact vehicle in the United States. The South Korean automaker has pledged to introduce eight new electric vehicles to the United States by 2029, though a Forte EV is unlikely.

The Forte, which was last updated in 2021, now comes in four trim levels, which we expect to continue through the revamp. The industry journal Automotive News is now anticipating the redesign, and we are hoping for some new features to accompany it. The makeover could add more standard safety features and connection options to the base LX trim, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet. We expect Kia to keep the Forte in line with the other designs on display, with slim, aggressive-looking headlights and a slim grill with a wide front fascia. Smoother lines and a more modern-looking rear end are possible with the Forte redesign.

The current Kia Forte includes autonomous emergency braking, pedestrian recognition, lane-keeping assist, and high beam assist as standard equipment. LED daytime running lights, blind-spot recognition, reverse automatic braking, and safe exit warning are only available at higher model levels. The 2025 Forte is outfitted with an 8-inch touchscreen that includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a USB connector, and an AUX connection.

The modern Forte is only available in front-wheel drive configuration. Barring any changes to engine options, the 2025 Kia Forte should retain the same engine as the present Forte on the market. The Forte is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The standard engine is mated to a continuously variable gearbox. The top-of-the-line GT grade includes a 1.6-liter Turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 201 HP and 195 lb-ft of torque. This is coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters or a six-speed manual transmission.

With a makeover, the Forte should be slightly more expensive than the current model year’s MSRP of $20,585 to $25,285. Based on previous release calendars, we anticipate that the updated 2025 Kia Forte will be available next fall, while nothing is set in stone.
