2025 Kia Sorento–The leftovers The 2025 Kia Sorento enters a new model year with improved trim packaging across the board. The Kia Sorento was completely revamped for the 2020 model year, and we had already heard whispers of a 2025 model year makeover. We don’t get the predicted redesign, but there are new basic features across the board.
2025 Kia Sorento New Exterior & Interior
The majority of the Sorento’s updates are standard features. In the base LX model, the list of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems now includes Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance, Rear Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance, and Safe Exit Assist. Higher trim levels are also getting previously optional items including a wireless phone charger in the S, 8-way power front seats and a frameless rearview mirror in the EX, and a 12.3-inch color digital instrument panel, power-folding mirrors, and rain-sensing wipers in the SX. The top-tier SX Prestige now includes AWD, gloss black accents, and a 115-volt power inverter to charge household devices.
The hybrid Kia Sorento 2025 receives a trim level repackaging, with the lineup dropping the base S trim and adding the all-new top-of-the-line SX-P trim. The upgraded model includes AWD with a center locking differential as standard, as well as drive mode options, including Snow Mode. The SX-P boasts LED fog lights, a Smart Power Tailgate, a 12.3-inch digital display, perforated leather seats, Bose audio, Navigation Smart Cruise Control-Curve, front collision avoidance, surround vision monitors, front and rear parking distance warning, and second-row captains chairs. The EX variant of the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid gains standard 8-way power in the front passenger seat and a frameless rearview mirror. The Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrid has been reduced into a single top-tier SX-P variant. While the Kia Sorento PHEV SX-P grade was previously well-equipped, it now includes even more standard safety features and creature comforts, in keeping with changes made to other Sorento trims.
2025 Kia Sorento Engine
The Sorento currently has four different powertrain options, which we don’t expect to change with a makeover. The base engine is a normally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 191 horsepower, with a turbocharged variant with 281 horsepower available. There’s also a 1.6-liter hybrid with 227 horsepower and 37 MPG, as well as a plug-in hybrid variant with 261 horsepower and 79 MPGe.
2025 Kia Sorento Price & Release date
The entire lineup of 2025 Kia Sorento models is already on the market. The gas-powered variant starts at $31,285 and goes up to $44,885. The Sorento Hybrid is priced between $37,885 and $43,685, while the plug-in hybrid variant starts at $51,185. The destination charge is included in all pricing.
