2025 Kia SportageThe Kia Sportage is similar to a Smeg fridge in that it is an essential feature of a family home that has been made to appear more fashionable. If you’re looking at family SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson and Nissan Qashqai, you might consider the Sportage. The LX, EX, X-Line AWD, SX, SX Prestige, X-Pro AWD, and X-Pro Prestige AWD grades are available on the conventional gas-powered 2025 Kia Sportage.

You’re not going to lose the Sportage in a grocery parking lot. The front boomerang-style LED running lights and the large ‘tiger nose’ grille give it a presence that only the Hyundai Tucson can equal. The back of the car also gets some unusual LED lighting, and the entire body is covered in strong creases and angles. It sticks out, but we’ll let you form your own opinions about the styling.

Seating for up to five people is available in all Sportages. Cargo capacity varies depending on the powertrain. With 39.6 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats, the gas-only Sportage has the most load capacity. The Sportage Hybrid comes in second with 39.6 cubic feet of cargo space, while the Sportage PHEV has the least with 34.5 cubic feet. Kia has not published numbers on total cargo capacity for the electrified Sportage SUVs yet, but claims the conventional Sportage delivers up to 74.1 cubic feet of storage space. The Sportage includes an eight-inch touchscreen, a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and six audio speakers as standard equipment. The EX trim and higher come standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation and a wireless charging pad. The SX level comes standard with an eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

Kia offers the Sportage with three distinct engines dependent on whether they run on gas, gas and a little amount of electricity, or gas and a lot of electricity. Unlike in the past, hybrids and plug-in hybrids are now more powerful than gas-only engines, thus upgrading to one of the electrified powertrains results in more than simply improved fuel economy stats. Kia has not yet disclosed fuel economy estimates for the Sportage PHEV, but the SUV is believed to have a 32-mile all-electric range. The PHEV is projected to be the most efficient and powerful of the lot, but it will also be the most expensive.
